Sessional Workers - Pilton Youth and Children’s Project - 18448
Contract: Sessional, Salary: £13.36 per hour / Friday/Saturday evening £16.06 per hour, Closing Date: This position will close when suitable candidates are found
Employer:
Pilton Youth & Children’s Project (PYCP) is a registered Scottish charity with roots going back to the 1980s, when Pilton Adventure Play Association offered safe play activities and Pilton Youth Programme provided intensive support to young people. The two organisations merged in 1997 to create PYCP as it is today, offering open access activities and targeted support for ages 5 to 18. This means that we can be there for young people throughout their journey to adulthood. We work with a range of partners in the community, strengthening outcomes for young people and sharing learning and resources.
We are based in the Pilton community of north west Edinburgh, an area where young people and their families can face challenges in relation to poverty and other inequalities. We can offer a tailored experience to each young person, where they can be with their friends in open youth clubs, get one to one support to cope with life’s challenges or go on educational trips and fun holidays. We have our own centre, including a large sports hall, art room, kitchen and café, dance studio and open youth workspace.
Environment:
We are looking for experienced sessional workers to be part of our youth and children’s work team and work in our after school provision. We are also able to offer additional hours to cover staff absence and in holiday programmes. We have a range of hours available across the week, in primary and secondary school age provision. This can run between 3.30pm up to 9.00pm in the evenings. It is likely that we will also be recruiting for provision on Friday and Saturday evenings. As well as face to face time, we also pay sessional staff 30 minutes either side of each group.
