Dust, odours and fumes

There are many sources of odour that can affect residents. Some odours may be subject to laws that allow us to take action to minimise or eliminate them. Such odours may be caused by dirty or verminous property or commercial property such as food businesses or Seafield sewage works.

Dust from processes such as stone or tile cutting or from building or demolition works may be classed as a statutory nuisance if the problem is very severe and frequent. Contact us if you wish to make a complaint about dust or odours.

If we are satisfied that the odour or dust is causing a statutory nuisance, we may be able to take action to minimise or eliminate the problem.
