Walking in your area
Walking for 30 minutes most days of the week will help you become fitter and healthier.
You can do this as part of your everyday activities. You could get off the bus a stop or two early, or walk to work or to the train station, a couple of times a week.
Walking is a great way to get healthier and also see more of our city.
There are lots of free apps you can download on your phone to help you track how many miles, or steps you are walking each day. Try a few and see which one you prefer!
Map my Walk - you can follow a chosen route or create your own!
Runkeeper - this has a 'Pocket Track' feature
Scottish Government's 'Journeys' App - join the Lothian region, to see the impact on carbon emissions by our walks
The WalkIt Edinburgh route planner can suggest quieter or faster routes from A to B
