Haymarket to Randolph Place

The project involves construction of new and upgraded walking and cycling facilities to provide an improved east west link into Edinburgh City Centre. The scheme comprises three sections.

Section 2 Haymarket to Randolph Place – A mixture of on-road cycling and off-carriageway segregated cycling between Haymarket and Randolph Place, via

  • Rosebery Crescent
  • Landsdowne Crescent
  • Palmerston Place
  • Manor Place
  • Melville Street
  • Randolph Place
  • Randolph Lane.

The scheme includes associated works on a number of nearby streets including:

  • Magdala Crescent
  • Grosvenor Crescent
  • Bishops Walk.

The associated works include:

  • carriageway resurfacing
  • raised table entrances at side roads
  • speed humps
  • on-road cycle lanes
  • segregated footway / cycleway
  • building out into the road to reduce carriageway width
  • contra-flow cycle provision on side roads
  • parallel zebra crossings
  • amendments to on-street parking
