We bring organisations and people together to campaign, network, and improve the quality and impact of Supported Employment and employability services.
SUSE is leading the Apt Making It Work project, which helps employers support disabled people and those with long-term health conditions, making workplaces more inclusive. The project focuses on recruiting businesses, helping them create action plans and working with partners to provide quality services. Employers will receive guidance on how to better retain employees, reducing economic inactivity and improving workplace support.
Environment:
Homeworking (predominantly), with an office base in Kirkintilloch, and some travel throughout Scotland. This is a part time position, working 28 hours per week.
What might a day in this role look like?
Duties include:
- Take a lead role in the achievement of the Apt Making It Work outcomes, working to the agreed budget.
- Implement the Project Plan and achieve key performance indicators.
- Participate in the continued development of a marketing plan for the Apt project and participate in its implementation.
- Provide day-to-day support for SUSE staff who are working on the project.
- Recruit employers to participate in the project, support them to develop workable action plans and deliver the project outputs.
- Induct and support new Apt partners, ensuring they understand our aims and how their skills and experience can contribute to the project’s success.
- Work flexibly, including occasional evenings and weekends to ensure the project’s outcomes are achieved.
What qualifications/skills are required?
- Educated to degree level or equivalent through experience.
- Experience of project delivery and achieving KPIs.
- Evidence of negotiating and influencing skills.
- Knowledge of stakeholder engagement and the ability to communicate with diverse audiences.
- Knowledge of the employability sector.
- Experience of gathering data and reporting to diverse stakeholders.
- Ability to manage a diverse workload, use initiative and problem solve.
- Strong communicator, with excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Presentation skills.
