Apply for a Building Warrant
From 24 August 2016 all online building warrant applications must be made via the national eDevelopment Portal which now includes eBuilding standards.
If you submit planning applications using this service, you can also submit building warrant applications using the same login.
Applications made before 24 August 2016
You can access the City of Edinburgh Council online building standards service to
- complete and submit any applications which are in your draft submissions section, with the exception of draft revised plans
- access granted building warrant applications to download approved plans.
You can access approved plans even if their related Building Warrant applications have been lodged using the eBuilding Standards if you were registered before the 18 August 2016.
A building warrant remains valid for 3 years. You can apply to extend this period on the eBuilding standards portal.
You may also need planning permission.
