Commercial waste and recycling collections

The trade waste service has stopped

We stoppped providing a trade waste services to our customers on the 1 July 2016. We will no longer be selling stickers for cardboard or sacks but we will continue to uplift them until you stock of them runs out. You will need to find an alternative collection company as soon as possible.

What you need to do

If you received your trade waste service from us, you will now need to find an alternative collection company, ideally you should have done this before your last collection with us on the 1 July 2016.

There are a lot of alternative providers in Edinburgh. You can search for “trade waste” or “waste disposal” online. You can also visit the Business Resource Centre website and search under "other materials" and select the types of waste you have.

You can find information on how to comply with your legal Duty of Care at the Resource Efficient Scotland website

Why we are making the changes

Stopping the service was part of the 2016/2017 budget savings plan because it didn't make enough money to cover running costs. To cover these it would have meant increasing the charges to customers in an already competitive market place.
