Notification of Temporary Road Closure to the City Bound Running Lane at Elm Row Leith Walk

City bound running lane at Elm Row will be closed temporarily to allow surface repairs from Wednesday 10 February.

UPDATE: This work was postponed due to adverse weather conditions and is now scheduled from Wednesday 17 February to Friday 19 February.

We released information this week that a rolling road closure commences on the evening of Monday 8 February for five days and will commence from Foot of the Walk, travelling south bound. You can view further information on the Leith Walk rolling road closure here.

Please be further advised that in order to carry out essential surfacing repair works on the running lane on Elm Row, a road closure on the running lane is required. This temporary closure will be in place from Wednesday 10 February to Friday 12 February - now Wednesday 17 February to Friday 19 February.

We had hoped to carry out these works during the out of hours working but following a further assessment a daytime closure is required and as stipulated above the duration is expected to take 3 days.

Traffic Management Arrangements

Download the traffic management plan for the temporary road closure to the city bound lane at Elm Row (PDF).

All traffic management arrangements attached to the project are jointly approved with members of the city's traffic management review panel, including Lothian Buses and the emergency services.

As a result of our works, all citybound traffic will be diverted via Elm Row to the London Road roundabout.  This will enable emergency repairs to be carried out.

All parking in the area of Elm Row will be banned for the duration of the works, this will allow vehicles to safely pass through the diversion.
