Notification of Essential Maintenance Repairs to Leith Walk Running Lane

Leith Walk running lane will be closed temporarily to allow surface repairs from Monday 8 February.

UPDATE:  These works were only completed from Foot of the Walk to Pilrig Street and were then postponed on Wednesday 10 February due to adverse weather conditions.

The closure from McDonald Road to Annandale Street will now be undertaken from Monday 15 February. In order to minimise disruption this closure will take place between the hours of 7pm to 11pm. Class One traffic marshalls will be in attendance to ensure localised/emergency service access is maintained.

Hours of work: 7pm to 11pm

Notification to advise of essential maintenance repair works are required to the running lane surface on Leith Walk, due to the nature of these works a rolling road closure will be installed. In order to minimise disruption this closure will only take place between the hours of 7pm to 11pm, Monday to Friday.

This temporary closure of the Leith Walk running lane will start from Foot of the Walk on the evening of Monday 8 February, and progress with sections of the road closure moving. This will be in place until the evening of Friday 12 February.  

There will be restricted access during the hours stated above to enable essential maintenance and repair works to the surfacing of the road. Please be advised that out with these hours the city bound running lane will operate as normal. 

This closure will be a rolling closure, which will commence north bound at Foot of the Walk. As the works progress south bound the closed areas will move as per the traffic management drawings with any previous closure being lifted. All through traffic will be diverted via alternative diversion routes such as Easter Road, Bonnington Road and Broughton Road. Local access will be maintained.
