Annandale Junction Works

Find out more about the traffic management arrangements in and around the Annandale Street / Leith Walk junction.

UPDATE: To facilitate the reinstatement of the carriageway at the Annandale Street junction the current traffic management arrangements for the daytime works will remain in place with no vehicle access from Annandale Street onto Leith Walk until Friday 20th May at 05:00am.


There will be changes to the traffic management arrangements in and around the Annandale Street / Leith Walk junction from Wednesday 18 May until Thursday 19 May 2022.

These are required to accommodate utility diversion and main infrastructure works and will include a nightshift on Wednesday 18 May 2022 from 7.30pm to 5am.

Due to the nature of the works the following traffic restrictions will be in place:

  • Wednesday 18 May 2022 (Day time works): There will be no vehicle access from Annandale Street onto Leith Walk. 
  • Wednesday 18 May 2022 (Night shift works  7.30pm to 5am): A full junction closure will be implemented.  There will be no access to and from Annandale / Leith Walk. 
  • Thursday 19 May 2022 (Day time works): There will be no vehicle access from Annandale Street onto Leith Walk.
  • City bound access from Leith Walk will be maintained at all times.  

Main diversion routes will be via Broughton Street or McDonald Road.

Traffic management crews will in place to monitor the area during the junction closure and diversion signs will be installed.

These works are expected to be noisy. We will endeavour to progress works as quickly as possible.
