Notification of parking restrictions at Springfield Street

Find out about the notification of parking restrictions at Springfield Street

We are required to make further changes to support the traffic managements arrangements that were recently implemented in the area.

All traffic management arrangements attached to the project are jointly approved by the city’s Traffic Management Review Panel (TMRP), which includes the City of Edinburgh Council, Lothian Buses and the emergency services. As with all arrangements, we continuously assess and make changes as required.

Since the re-opening of Springfield Street junction and the closure of Stead’s Place, implemented the week commencing Monday 11 October 2021, we are now required to install further traffic management arrangements to improve traffic and pedestrian flows in the area. From Monday 25 October parking restrictions will be implemented on Springfield Street and Stead’s Place. This will be under the project’s temporary traffic regulation order (TTRO).

More specifically, the TTRO will be in place on Springfield Street from Leith Walk to the Springfield Lane junction, along Springfield Street until Stead’s Place and before the Stead’s Place junction with Leith Walk.

Furthermore, The City of Edinburgh Council’s parking enforcement teams will monitor these new arrangements.

Additionally, to support the TTRO parking restrictions a two-way traffic light system has been implemented at the Springfield Street junction, which we expect will help install further control measures in the area
