Notification of Attenuation Pipes/Drainage System enabling works on Tower Street

More details of upcoming works at Tower Street.

Enabling works will begin on Tower Street for the installation of attenuation pipes, which will support surface water drainage in the local area.

What happens now?

Works at the Constitution Street junction have already started within the existing site area.  The site will be extended further west on the south side of the carriage way with set up and installation of fencing commencing 11 October 2021.

Vehicle access will be maintained to the private car parks in the area, however as the works progress on the south side road plates will be utilised to maintain access.

The project will notify the City of Edinburgh Council waste team in regard to the works to ensure there is no disruption to the service.

Once the enabling works are complete works will commence on the installation of the attenuation pipes which will see the site extend to include the north side of the road.  Access to private car parks will be maintained any changes to access arrangements will be communicated either direct to the affected residents or by traffic signage.

When are we doing it?

Enabling works will begin 11 October 2021 and are expected to take approximately five weeks, with the installation of the attenuation pipes expected to be complete by the end of the year.  Reinstatement of the cobbles will then follow early 2022.
