Tell us a bit about your business?

Established on Leith Walk since 2008, PC Repair Man and East Coast Data Recovery specialise in computer repairs, custom builds, and data recovery.

What makes your business unique?

We pride ourselves on expertise in both fields (computer repair and data recovery) and always try to improve. Whenever possible we offer a free diagnostic, considering the item’s age and overall health before offering our quotations. We offer an honest opinion on whether to invest into the repairs or not.  Our customer service is friendly, clear and without jargon.

Describe your typical working day.

Our typical workday starts at 10am. Recently Covid-19 has forced us to work a bit differently. Our reception area is small and therefore we only allow one customer at a time. With our shop on a busy main street we have also considered the outside of our shop. With the aim not to cause queues and block up the pavement we operate on appointment basis. It was a little strange to start with as previously anyone could just pop in; for a chat, advice, to catch up… but operating with the appointments since June we have started to see the benefits of it. Mainly the opportunity to further the quality of one on one time with the customer, being ready for all our clients and therefore saving them time.  Unscheduled drop ins are still welcome but whenever possible we would prefer the appointment to be set up in advance. Our workshop closes at 5pm.

Why Leith?

It is our home. Personally, I have moved to Leith in 2005 and love it here. It is a great location close to the city centre and it has a vibrant community that we are happy to be a part of.
