Notification of Footway Works on Constitution Street

Hard landscaping and reinstatement works have started within the existing site set-up. In order to continue with these works we are extending our work space in to the footway.

These new temporary arrangements will see existing fence lines being extended towards properties with the commencement of hard landscaping/public realm works. Access will be maintained to properties which will lead into a temporary footway that will be created on the newly laid tracks. Works will be cut into three phases. 

• Phase 1: completion of section between Queen Charlotte Street and Maritime Lane. The east side (Mitchell Street to Queen Charlotte Street) works will take place from mid June to early July 2021. The west side (Maritime Lane to Bernard Street) works will take place from early July 2021 to August 2021.
• Phase 2: completion of section between Maritime Lane and Bernard Street from September 2021 to November 2021. 
• Phase 3: completion of new public realm at Bernard Street (including reinstatement of Robert Burns statue) from November 2021 to January 2022. This will be dependant on the completion of the drainage system.

These changes will be in place from Thursday 17 June 2021.
