The owners of Afreen Fashion and Beauty.

Find out more about Afreen Fashion & Beauty in our small business spotlight article.

Tell us a bit about your business?

Afreen Fashion & Beauty has been open as a threading/beauty salon for 11 years and it has built up a loyal client base through hard work on our part and recommendations from our customers.

We specialise in eyebrow threading treatments. We are also fully qualified in body waxing, Intimate waxing, eyelash extensions, IPL/laser hair removal as well as advanced facials including dermaplaning, micro-needling and chemical peels.

What makes your business unique?

What makes us different from a lot of beauty salons is our customer service and care, we still have some of the same customers from when we first opened and it is more like a big family unit. We know most of our customers personally and ask about them, their friends and families. Some customers just pop in for a chat when they are passing by the salon. Our elderly customers have our phone numbers and are encouraged to contact us if they need anything or just want a chat.

We are also an award winning salon with 2019 -2020 being our most successful year with four national awards:

  • Threading Specialists of the Year (Asian Beauty Industry Awards)
  • Threading Experts of the Year (Scottish Nails Brows Lashes Awards)
  • Beauty Salon of the Year (Scottish Enterprise Awards)
  • SME Business of the Year  (Scottish Asian Business Awards)

Describe your typical working day.

Our day typically starts with ensuring the salon is clean and hygienic and ready to take clients.

As we are a walk in service we are never sure what client or treatment will come through the door but we are always smiling and customer focused.

Why Leith?

We are located in the middle of the lovely community of Leith. Even though we are a few miles from the city centre it’s feels like a little village and the locals look out for each other.

We also live locally and love the feel and vibrance of Leith. It is very multicultural and welcoming.

We ourselves are a small local business and always look to support other small businesses and our local community, this may be just a simple smile to buying groceries for some of our less well-off residents within the community,

Name a fellow Leith businesses you love to visit.
