Constitution Street Closure: Queen Charlotte Street to Constitution Place

No access will be provided both Northbound and Southbound at these closure points for any vehicular traffic including cyclists. Diversion routes will be clearly signed for all traffic, but cyclists can use the option of dismounting and using the available footpaths.
 
Maritime Street between Maritime Lane and Bernard Street will require the revocation of the one-way system during Baltic Street Junction Phase 2 works.
 
All parking and loading provision will be suspended on Constitution Street between Queen Charlotte Street Junction and Constitution Place. Additional parking and loading suspensions will be required to facilitate works as per supplied drawing. These will include:
• Queen Charlotte Street – 25 metres each side of the Constitution Street Junction on both approaches.
• Maritime Lane – Full length both sides between Constitution Street and Maritime Street.
• Baltic Street – between Constitution Street and Assembly Street (approx. 110 metres on both carriageways).
• Bernard Street – Full length both sides between Constitution Street and Timber Bush.
• Maritime Street – Full length between Bernard Street and Carpet Lane both sides.
• Seaport Street – Full length between Bernard Street and Carpet Lane both sides.
• Tower Street - 25 metres each side of the Constitution Street Junction on both approaches.
• Constitution Place - 25 metres each side of the Constitution Street Junction on both approaches.
 
Pedestrian footpaths on this section of Constitution Street will be maintained at all times with 3 pedestrian crossing points being throughout this section of the works. One pedestrian crossing point will be maintained between Constitution Place and Tower Place. The second pedestrian crossing point will be maintained between Baltic Street and Mitchell Street with the third being maintained between Mitchell Street and Queen Charlotte Street.
 
The Tower Street traffic lane across Constitution Street will be maintained as a shuttle lane, controlled by temporary traffic signals. This lane will be maintained in 2 phases to allow the linear works on Constitution Street to be completed.
 
Access and egress to and from Constitution Place from Constitution Street will be controlled using a shuttle lane under temporary traffic signals. This will remain in situ for the duration of this phase and will not change.
 
The Mitchell Street/ Maritime Lane traffic lane across Constitution Street will be maintained as a single running lane across the works. This lane will be uncontrolled as no opposing traffic flows are present. The one way traffic order on Maritime Lane will be reversed.
 
The East/West movement across Constitution Street along Baltic Street/ Bernard Street will be maintained allowing 1 lane in each direction. Following enabling works, 2 way traffic will be maintained at all times.
