What might a day in this role look like?

This job description is not intended to be all-inclusive. The employee may be required to perform other related duties as assigned.

  • Install, maintain, and repair emergency lighting electrical systems and equipment
  • Perform emergency lighting electrical inspections and testing to ensure compliance with BS 5266
  • Troubleshoot emergency lighting electrical issues and make necessary repairs
  • Ensure emergency lighting is fit for purpose and make recommendations
  • Follow all safety protocols and regulations while working on electrical systems.

What qualifications/skills are required?

  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience as an electrician (preferred)
  • Proficient in working with electrical systems in residential, commercial, or industrial settings
  • Strong knowledge of electrical codes and regulations
  • Familiarity with electrical hand tools and power tools
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team
  • Excellent problem-solving skills to diagnose and resolve electrical issues
  • Attention to detail to ensure accurate installation and repairs
  • Strong communication skills to effectively communicate with clients, team members, and supervisors
  • Physical stamina to perform tasks that may require standing, bending, or lifting heavy equipment
  • Driving licence preferred.
