Our holiday year runs from 1 October to 30 September. Further information is available on Our Benefits webpage.
If you have holidays booked, let your manager know before you start and we will do our best to accommodate them.
Working hours
The Council's normal working week for full-time employees is 36 hours, pro-rated for part-time employees. The standard working week is explained in the table below.

We all have commitments, responsibilities and interests outside of work, and our needs will be different, and we want to help you find the best balance possible between your personal time and time at work.
As a flexible employer, we offer a variety of working arrangements for our colleagues wherever possible and role dependent. Individual directorates and teams consider the best model for their service area so please discuss your working arrangements with your manager before you start.
