Temporary suspensions
The LEZ legislation allows us to temporarily suspend the zone, in part or full, for events of local or national significance. We have not identified any such events so, to protect people's health, our position is that we will not grant temporary suspensions for any event. We will determine any need to suspend the LEZ for events on a case-by-case in consultation with Scottish Government.
We may also suspend the LEZ in emergency situations, such as when an incident on roads around the LEZ requires vehicles to be temporarily diverted through the LEZ. In such an incident, vehicles must follow prescribed diversion routes. Any emergency suspension will be decided by the Council.
