Improvement works
Improvement works are underway in parts of Moredun, Magdalene and Oxgangs to repair buildings and make homes safer, warmer and more comfortable.
In addition to the building improvements, we’re working with the local communities on longer term plans to develop the green spaces surrounding blocks to create spaces that will benefit the local area.
The Council is taking the lead on repairs because we have an obligation as an owner and local authority landlord to maintain and repair homes for our tenants and we share responsibility with other owners to maintain common areas of blocks.

Make your home warmer
The Council is working in partnership with Changeworks and Home Energy Scotland to help keep you and your home warm for less.
Their advisors are on hand to give you
- free energy saving advice to help save money on your bills,
- support with fuel debt,
- help to find out if you’re eligible for any grants or funding for energy efficiency home improvements.
