This is a list of services available for adults in Edinburgh who have lost their hearing and use English, most of whom will use hearing aids. 

If you are a Deaf BSL user, there’s a BSL local plan and information about services is available on the Deaf Action website.

Hearing Link Helpdesk

If you’re looking for answers, seeking support or simply need to talk to someone who understands you can contact the Hearing Link Helpdesk. Our experienced volunteers are ready to offer information, guidance and support to help you take your next step. Visit the Hearing Link website or email

HALO service 

***not currently running due to COVID-19 pandemic

HALO (Hearing Aid Liaison and Outreach) run by Hearing Link volunteers at the Adult Audiology Clinic, Lauriston Place, the first and third Friday afternoon of the month 1.30 to 4pm. Just drop in, you’ll be made very welcome. For emotional and practical support from highly trained and experienced volunteers, all of whom have experience of hearing loss either directly or through a family member or friend.
