All employees must complete essential learning as part of their role, and once you start you'll be given access to myLearning Hub (our learning experience platform) to complete this.
Before you start
- It's important you read our ICT Acceptable Use Policy.
- This policy covers the security and use of all Council information and Communications Technology (ICT) equipment. It also includes the use of email, the internet, voice, and mobile IT or associated systems, e.g. printers, multi-functional devices, phones etc.
Once you start, complete your essential learning and book onto a Welcome event
- When you start and get your employee number, you’ll be given access to myLearning Hub so you can complete required essential learning for your role, including the ICT Acceptable Use Policy e-learning module.
- You can then book onto our in-person Welcome event. You'll be welcomed at the event by our Chief Executive Officer, Paul Lawrence, and the Leader of the Council. They'll share their key priorities for Edinburgh and you'll receive information on how the council is structured and an overview of the range of services we provide. You'll also get the chance to meet with our Trade Union colleagues who'll explain the benefits of membership. The event is approximately three hours long.
How to book the Welcome event once you get access
- Log into myLearning Hub.
- Search 'Welcome event' and further instruction on how to join the event will be sent to you.
