Scottish Parliament Election - guidance on count procedures

About arrangements for 2021

The arrangements for the 2021 Scottish Parliamentary Election will feel different from previous elections due to additional Covid-19 health and safety measures in place to

  • help keep everyone safe
  • reduce the risk of spreading the virus
  • protect the integrity of the election.

This guide is designed to provide you with everything you need to know about the process and explain what you can expect when you attend the count at the Highland Hall at Ingliston.

Covid-19 safety measures

It is vitally important you do not attend any electoral event if you have any of the symptoms of Covid-19:

  • A persistent, continuous cough
  • A high temperature
  • A change in your sense of taste or smell

You must not attend if you are a confirmed contact of someone who is self-isolating. If you are unwell you must self-isolate at home and book a test. These measures are in place to protect you and everyone who is involved in running the election.
