When contacting us about Council Tax, Housing Benefit, or Council Tax Reduction, we will ask you for your phone number. We need your number to contact you about your enquiry.
If we do not receive your Council Tax payment by the due date, we can use information we hold about you to help collect the tax owed. As part of this, if we hold a mobile number for you, we may send you a text message. This will include a link and telephone number that you can use to make an automated payment.
This service is delivered in partnership with Yakara, who send the text messages and take payments on our behalf.
We will not use this number or share it with anyone else without your consent, unless required to do so by law.
