Colleague wellbeing support

Wellbeing support

During these difficult times, it’s important we look out for ourselves as well as our families, colleagues and customers. This includes talking about our challenges and helping others with theirs. To help you with this, we’re highlighting support that is available for you.

Let’s talk

Pamassist: Our Employee Assistance Programme (EAP) offers PAM Assist which is a free confidential life management and personal support service that is available to all colleagues. No matter when or how often you need to contact them, they are there to help 24/7, 365 days a year.

Telephone: 0800 882 4102

Chaplaincy support: Chaplains are engaged in conversations about a range of things, all of life’s ups and downs – anything from bereavement, relationships, anxiety, stress etc. The service is open to anyone in the Council regardless of their faith, identity, belief or non-belief.

Listening Support: If you don’t feel that the EAP is right for you but you do want to talk to someone, you can reach out by email at letstalk@edinburgh.gov.uk and you’ll be contacted by one of our internally qualified coaches to set up your conversation. While PAM Assist and the Chaplain will offer counselling and advice, our trained listeners aren’t there for that.

You’ll have an initial chat about what you want to discuss then you’ll be put in touch with someone who will listen and ask you questions, to help you find your own answers and solutions.

Many of our volunteer listeners are trained coaches and you can learn more about what coaches do by watching this one-minute video.
