Businesses, employers and jobs - coronavirus update

Billing for 2020/21 Business Rates (Non-Domestic Rates)

Businesses normally receive their 2020/21 bill for business rates in April 2020. This year the Council has delayed bills being issued to allow us to add the reliefs awarded by the Scottish Government to rate payers accounts for coronavirus. The Council will be issuing the business rate bills in July 2020.

A range of measures have been introduced by the Scottish Government to help manage the impact of coronavirus on businesses.

One measure is to provide 100% rates relief for the full 2020/21 rating year to the Retail, Hospitality and Leisure sector.

Whilst efforts have been made to identify all potential recipients, if you’ve received a bill with an amount to pay but believe you occupy a property in the Retail, Hospitality or Leisure sector, please notify us at [email protected], detailing what you do and what purpose the property is wholly or mainly used for.

If your bill is zero, there is no need to contact us regarding this.
