Trainee Operations Coordinator - Caskshare - 17956

Contract: Permanent, Salary: £19,500 per annum, Closing Date: Friday 19 August

Caskshare is a fast growing platform that allows customers the ability to buy bottles of ultra-unique, rare and interesting whisky, directly from the cask. We give customers the chance to buy whisky from brand new and established distilleries that otherwise are normally only reserved for those that can afford to buy the whole cask. We want to democratise the ownership of single cask spirits. Everyone that wants to, can get involved, one bottle at a time.

The Caskshare.com platform creates life-long relationships between producers and whisky enthusiasts. Our mission is to take the exclusive and make it within the reach of everyone, through our highly immersive digital platform that engages producers as well as whisky drinkers. Our Caskshare platform and community provide distilleries and cask owners with a new route to market whilst we take on all aspects of packaging, bottling and shipping.

Ultra-premium whisky is a high growth sector; our goal is to bring innovation in online consumer-engagement to this growth opportunity. Together, with our own marketing campaigns, we collaborate with our distillery and cask owner partners on joint marketing campaigns to grow sales collaboratively.

You have an opportunity to join the Operations team helping coordinate logistics of both cask and bottle goods.

Environment: 

Working in a small team in our office in Edinburgh’s West End.

What might a day in this role look like?

You will be working with colleagues to identify what products will be created in the coming months and liaising with suppliers to ensure we have the correct number of dry goods in stock. You will be organising transportation of goods through logistic providers and work with our bottling partners to ensure products are bottled on time.

How to work in a fast-moving start-up business with technology as its backbone. Full job training will be provided. 

What qualifications/skills are required?

The following skills are essential:

  • Proficiency with MS Excel or Google Sheets
  • General knowledge of standard accounting practices
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work with remote suppliers in UK and EU
  • Diligent and good attention to detail.

The following skills are preferred:

  • Knowledge of the drinks industry, notably the making of whisky
  • Good customer service skills
  • Ability to use initiative and work independently
  • Knowledge of enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems such as Odoo, Netsuite or SAP.
