Training Fund

In a survey conducted of support organisations in Edinburgh, over 60% identified funding as being a major barrier for parents and carers accessing training provision in the city. In many cases 'eligibility' for mainstream funding was cited as a key reason for parents/carers not being able to participate in training interventions.

Working for Families in Edinburgh has established the 'Training Fund' to assist with the costs associated by participating in training opportunities to enhance an individual's chances of securing employment. Our goal is to make a significant difference for families through allowing them to access learning which will have an impact on their future career paths.

Consideration is given on a case by case basis which allows us to reflect the individual needs of our clients. Training opportunities could lead to further study, secured employment or own business start-up. The training fund allows the flexibility which often cannot be given through mainstream funding.
