Supporting agencies

Working for Families in Edinburgh embraces the concept that partnership working across multi-agencies is an effective strategy in assisting parents and carers to meet their aspirations to enter training or employment opportunities.

Through our Adviser Service we can support the clients of local agencies access childcare solutions to meet their needs while they are training or starting work. We can access our network of childcare services to identify local solutions for parents and in certain circumstances we can provide financial support to meet the initial costs of childcare and work related expenses. Our aim is to complement the work of agencies in the development of employability skills amongst parents through effective partnership working.

Our Training Fund can also be accessed by agencies to support their eligible clients where the clients do not have access to mainstream funding streams. The purpose of the training fund is to improve the skills of parents/carers to allow them to access employment opportunities.

Our Childcare Provision Support Fund has been developed to provide grant funding for organisations seeking to ensure that there is sufficient supply of childcare services to support the needs of the parents who engage with the WfF programme and related activities.
