About Waste Aware Edinburgh

Waste Aware Edinburgh aims to change public attitudes and behaviour towards waste. With the help of Edinburgh residents, the initiative aims to raise the rate of recycling and composting rate rise to meet the national target of 25% by 2006. More information on the campaign

Get involved

  • 'Waste Not Want Not' Competition and Exhibition
    Anyone can enter this art and creative writing competition to win £1,000 and see their work on display.
  • Waste Action Grant Programme
    Grants of up to £2,500 for community, residents and youth groups for local action on waste projects.
  • Book a 'Waste Aware Edinburgh' talk and interactive workshop
    This includes arts and crafts workshops, composting training sessions and real nappy information and advice.
