Stakeholder enewsletter 1 - April 2016

Thank you to everyone who took part in shaping the Strategic Plan for the Edinburgh Health and Social Care Partnership.

The Strategic Plan was approved by the Integration Joint Board (EIJB) on Friday 11 March. This paved the way for the EIJB to take responsibility for the strategic planning and resourcing of the jointly delivered health and social care services on Friday 1 April. The services will be delivered on behalf of the EIJB by the Edinburgh Health and Social Care Partnership which is the combined workforce of the Council and NHS Lothian’s health and social care services in Edinburgh.

The plan has great importance for the city as it outlines how the Edinburgh Health and Social Care Partnership will work steadily to improve the lives of those who use our services.

For me integration brings with it a host of opportunities in delivering services differently in partnership with private organisations, the voluntary sector and the community to better meet the needs of Edinburgh’s citizens. We’ve come this far in the journey in great part thanks to your help and support and I look forward to working more closely with you in the future to develop Edinburgh’s health and social care services around the people of Edinburgh’s needs.
