About Live Well in Later Life

'Live Well in Later Life', Edinburgh's Joint Commissioning Plan for Older People 2012-2022 covers care and support services to older people over 65 years of age, which are delivered by the following partners:

  • City of Edinburgh Council
  • NHS Lothian
  • voluntary sector providers
  • independent sector providers.

The plan outlines the partnership's vision for the next ten years. It explains how we will improve outcomes for older people and the approaches we are taking.

As easy-read summary of the plan is also available.

A public consulatation was held from September-December 2012 to get people's views on the draft plan. Over 100 responses were received from individuals and groups.

How was the feedback used?

  • a report to the City of Edinburgh Council's Health, Wellbeing and Housing Committee on 18 June 2013 summarised the comments received and the partnership's response
  • the comments made led to changes being made to the final Joint Commissioning Plan for Older People
  • an action plan has been developed based on the Joint Commissioning Plane for Older People and the consultation feedback, which is available as part of the Committee report. The delivery of the action plan will be overseen by the Joint Older People's Management Group.

An Equalities and Rights Impact Assessment has been undertaken as part of this work and any positive or negative impacts will continue to be monitored and addressed as the Plan is implemented.
