The City of Edinburgh Council will launch a campaign on 23rd March 2012 introducing 20mph limit,  cutting vehicle speeds making streets safer for everyone.  This will also encourage more journeys by foot and bicycle.

Following consultation, the Council's Transport, Infrastructure and Environment Committee decided that most of the residential streets between Morningside, The Meadows, Holyrood Park and Blackford Hill will be subject to the new 20mph speed limit.

However, some streets will continue to have a 30mph limit and you can find out more by visiting our pages on the 20mph limit for South Central Edinburgh.
