The City of Edinburgh Council offers a Sports Award Pass to individual sportsmen and women in order to support these talented individuals in their training programmes.

It is hoped that this will enable them to progress from a Regional level of performance through to National and International standards.

Who is eligible?
The Sports Award Pass is available to:
Individuals who permanently reside within the City of Edinburgh,
First claim members of sports clubs within the City.
NB: School, College and University clubs will not be considered as first claim clubs,
Sportsmen and women who have a proven record at Regional or National/International level.

What is the purpose of the Sports Award Pass?
The pass entitles only the holder free access to Edinburgh Leisure facilities directly related to his/her sport, plus running tracks, and a reduced cost for use of fitness rooms.
Swimming pools are only available to water based sports. However, Facility Managers may, at their discretion, allow sportspeople recovering from injury a limited time in pools to assist with their recovery.

Guidelines for applicants - please read carefully
1. Applicants will only be considered for one sport.
2. Applicants must live in Edinburgh and compete for an Edinburgh Club.
3. Events shown in the Competitive Record section must be fully completed
4. School, College or University events do not count.
5. Your results at the Scottish Championships and East District Championships MUST BE SHOWN. If you did not compete in either of these events please attach an explanation.
6. ALL SECTIONS OF THE FORM MUST BE FULLY COMPLETED AND SIGNED BY THE APPLICANT ONLY.
7. Order an application form by contacting Graham Croucher.

Additional information
Once all forms have been returned to this address, they will be forwarded to the appropriate National Governing Body with a request that they grade all applications into the following categories:
A Established Scottish International
B Established East District Representative
C Member of Lothian Squad
D Potential Member of Lothian Squad
E Not Eligible

When this process has been completed a Panel will then assess the graded applications and the Sports Passes awarded as appropriate. Eligibility does not mean automatic selection.

The decision of the panel is final.

All applicants will be informed of the Panel’s decisions in writing and all passes will be available for use as from 1st April.
