Immigration & Asylum Support Team + add to favourites

Description

IAST is a specialist CEC service which seeks to assist, advise, and in some cases financially support individuals who have a broad range of immigration related and ‘no recourse to public funds’ issues. This may include asylum seekers, victims of human trafficking, foreign nationals who are victims of domestic violence, some EU nationals, visa overstayers, and other people subject to immigration control.

In addition, IAST undertakes transitional integration work with people who have been granted refugee status or other forms of Leave to Remain and responds to general inquiries in respect of EU nationals.

IAST can assist with some applications to the Home Office.

The team also provides a service to other council departments (or outside agencies) seeking confirmation of an individual’s eligibility to certain services or status in the UK.
