Management Rules for Public Parks and Greenspace

The new Management Rules for Public Parks and Greenspaces come into force on 1st March 2013. These rules have been designed to comply, were possible, with the Land Reform (Scotland) Act 2003 and the Scottish Outdoor Access Code.

Under the Act local authorities can introduce management rules to over-rule access rights if there is a clear and reasonable case for doing so in regard to the better management of the land.

One of the new rules is about professional dog walkers needing permission to use the Council's Parks and Greenspace. Find out more, and register as a professional dog walker
