Keep Edinburgh beautiful in the sunshine

With forecasters predicting a warm weekend, the Council is reminding residents to help keep our parks, beaches and green spaces looking beautiful for the enjoyment of all.

Environment Convener Councillor Lesley Hinds said: "We want to encourage people to make the most of our parks, beaches and greenspaces to enjoy the good weather with friends and family. All we would ask is that everyone respects the rights of their fellow residents to enjoy Edinburgh's parks and beaches - that means disposing of any litter in the nearest available bins and, if using a disposable barbecue, making sure they do so on one of the dedicated sites in order to protect the grass.

"We've had some gorgeous weather already this week and happily it seems this warm spell is set to continue over the next couple of days. Although it's attractive in all weathers, Edinburgh is absolutley spectacular in the sunshine, and we expect thousands of people to flock to our parks, greenspaces and beaches this weekend."
