New convener appointed to Regulatory Committee

The City of Edinburgh Council's Regulatory Committee appointed Cllr Rob Munn as the new Convener today replacing Cllr Colin Keir who resigned from the post following his recent election to the Scottish Parliament.

Commenting on his new position Cllr Munn said: "I am currently a member of the Committee and I am looking forward to taking on this extra responsibility. Cllr Keir did an excellent job as Convener and I intend to keep up the high standard he has set."
Cllr Colin Keir added: "I have thoroughly enjoyed my term as Convener. It has been challenging at times and rewarding. I am delighted to be handing over to someone of Cllr Munn's calibre and I wish him every success."

The Regulatory Committee's responsibilities include non-liquor licences, buildings in need of repair, road construction and approvals for placing tables and chairs on footways.

The Licensing Sub-Committee of the Regulatory Committee is responsible for considering individual licence applications for taxi drivers, private hire drivers and street traders, public entertainment and houses in multiple occupation (HMOs).
