Edinburgh is happiest major city in the UK – Deputy Council Leader welcomes results of study
Published Wednesday 16 June 2010
Insurance company Aviva has published a study showing that, of the UK’s 10 largest cities, Edinburgh residents are the happiest.
Cllr Steve Cardownie, Deputy Leader of the City of Edinburgh Council,
welcomed the news but said it was not surprising: "We've got a beautiful city, a
strong economy and year-round attractions that make us the envy of many other
capitals around the world. That's why so many people choose Edinburgh as a place
to visit, study in or make their home. Despite the challenges created by the
recession and the UK public finances, Edinburgh is holding up brilliantly and
has much to look forward to in coming years."
