Locality Improvement Plans

With our partners, we have asked individuals and community groups for their views on local priorities and services. Using that feedback, we have now developed four Locality Improvement Plans for 2017 to 2022. The Edinburgh Partnership endorsed these plans on 7 December 2017.

These partners

  • The Council
  • Police Scotland
  • Scottish Fire and Rescue Service
  • NHS Lothian
  • Edinburgh College
  • universities
  • the voluntary sector
  • other partners

are working together within Edinburgh's four localities

  • North West
  • North East
  • South West
  • South East.

This is to achieve better outcomes for our people and communities.

The Locality Improvement Plans look at how each area could be improved, based on five themes

  • place
  • health and wellbeing
  • children, young people and families
  • community safety
  • economy and employability.

The plans also highlight geographical areas of greatest need and the actions needed to make a difference. The plans set out the key outcomes and how we aim to achieve them over the next five years.

Next steps

We will continue to measure, monitor and develop the plans over the coming years to reflect the changing needs of the community as well as the partners' objectives and plans.
