Freedom of Information
The Freedom of Information (Scotland) Act 2002 was introduced to give people access to information held by Scottish public authorities. Under the Act, Lothian and Borders Police Board is required to produce a Publication Scheme.

Gender Equality Scheme
The Board has a duty under the Equality Act 2006 to promote gender equality. As part of its duty the Board has published its Gender Equality Scheme which sets out how the Board will assess, monitor and promote gender equality.

Disability Equality Scheme
Under the Disability Discrimination Act, all public authorities have a duty to promote disability equality. This means that the Lothian and Borders Fire and Rescue Service must be proactive and adopt a positive approach, giving equal importance to disability equality in its strategic planning and delivery of services
