Pentland Hills Regional ParkThe Pentland Hills Regional Park is a living, working landscape, which offers great opportunities to experience and enjoy the outdoors. Sculpted by glaciers and water, then shaped by people’s interactions over thousands of years, the Pentland Hills are a special place for everyone. With about 10,000 hectares of countryside and over 100 km of paths, the Regional Park is a great place to come walking, biking, horse riding, orienteering and fishing. The park offers both gentle and challenging routes, from low lying routes around the scenic reservoirs to the high summits of the Pentland Hills with panoramic views of the Lothians and beyond. The Service offers a wide range of activities to the public from guided walks and community action days to outdoor events and children activity afternoons.
