Scottish LibraryThe Scottish Library is located downstairs in the main Central Library building. Its stock covers all aspects of Scotland not dealt with by the Edinburgh Room, Music and Fine Art Libraries.To find out more about the material and services we have on offer please look at our home page. The library provides both lending and reference services. Our opening hours are: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday: 10.00am - 8.00pm Friday: 10.00am - 5.00pm Saturday: 9.00am - 1.00pm The Scottish Library can be reached by using the library’s main staircase or by lift. However, in the event of a fire, it is not possible to use the lifts in Central Library to evacuate wheelchair users. We cannot guarantee that we will be able to help wheelchair users leave the building safely in an emergency. For their safety, we can provide services from the ground floor level of Central Library to wheelchair users, or anyone else with restricted mobility. Please contact the Scottish Library directly to arrange for material to be brought to the ground floor. We look forward to hearing from you with your enquiries or suggestions.
