Renew my booksRenewing your books in person or by phoneThere's no need to carry heavy books back to your library. As long as you have your library card we can renew them for you - just phone or visit any library. You can do this up to three times, after which you'll need to bring the books in to the library if you want to renew them again. However, if another person has reserved any of your books you will not be able to renew that item. Don't forget that if you renew charged items (eg CDs, DVDs and audio books) you will incur another hire charge for the extended loan period. Renewing your books onlineIt is now possible to check when your books are due back, renew them if they aren't overdue, keep track of your reservations and see what charges you have via Edinburgh City Libraries' Catalogue on the Web. If you want an automatic reminder BEFORE your books sre overdue try the friendly Library Elf, which you can set to your preferences. This information is only available to library members, so you must have a library card. You will also need to visit any local library to get a PIN number from the staff (remember to take your library membership card with you). Sorry, we cannot give out PIN numbers over the telephone. The system allows you to change your PIN number to a number you can remember easily. The system is easy to use - from the library catalogue choose the option for My Account, enter your library card number and PIN, then click Log On. To renew one or more loans click on the box to the left of the titles you wish to renew and then click on Renew Loans. Items will not be renewed online when:
If you have problems renewing your items, then phone any of the libraries during normal opening hours. Contacts
