The Hospital Library Service

Hospitals served

There are libraries for patients and staff at the Western General and Liberton Hospitals; in addition we visit individual wards.  
We also provide a outreach service to the Royal Victoria Hospital every Wednesday.

Corstorphine Hospital, the Marie Curie Hospice, and the Medicine for the Elderly unit

at the Edinburgh Royal Infirmary receive a monthly service via mobile library provision.

Users can borrow

• large print books
• books-on-tape
• music CDs
• cassette players
• magnifiers
• activity materials.

There is a free request and information service.

Service availability

Liberton Hospital library is open on Wednesdays.
The Western General library is open on Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays.
