Celebrate the Year of Homecoming with Edinburgh City Libraries

St Andrew's Day Celebration Join Gilmerton Library and our library link for sherry, shortbread and live Scottish music from library staff!  Borrow from our display of Scottish books and authors. Wed 2nd December, 2-3pm

The Rise and Fall o’ Charlie charts in song the rise & fall of Prince Charles Edward Stuart (better known as Bonnie Prince Charlie) from his arrival as a 21 year old in the North West of Scotland to raise an army and wrest the throne of Britain back to the Stuarts through to the crushing defeat of Culloden, his ultimate failure and death in exile. Alan Reid and Rob Van Sante have put together an excellent CD with some great traditonal songs performed by a talented ensemble of singers and musicians.

We are delighted to announce a special one-off performance of the album featuring Alan Reid, Rob van Sante, Wendy Weatherby, Maeve MacKinnon and Susan Miller at Central Library on Friday Dec. 4th at 7pm.
