Core skills

Getting help with your core skills – reading, writing, spelling, number, ICT and communications skills – can help you both at home and in work. It will boost your confidence and enable you to develop the key skills to take your learning further.

There are a number of organisations that can help you improve your core skills and some offer a wider range of courses leading to a qualification. Usually help is free and courses are available to suit individual needs.

Further Education Colleges also give help with Adult Literacy and Numeracy opportunities. See the Universities and Colleges page for contact details.
