Caltongate Masterplan

The draft Caltongate Masterplan was presented to the Planning Committee on 9 March 2006, who agreed it should be subject to public consultation. Consultation took place over nine weeks and involved public exhibitions; a Planning Stakeholder Workshop and a Community Planning Day. The reports from the consultation events are available to download below.

A report to Committee on 15 June 2006 presented the findings of the consultation and proposed areas of change to the final version of the Masterplan. In addition, the Committee decision for 15 June 2006 contained supplementary amendments to be included in the final version of the Masterplan. The Masterplan has been redrafted by the Council to incorporate these changes.

The final version of the Caltongate Masterplan was approved by Planning Committee on 5 October 2006 and this is accompanied by a Sustainability Statement.

The final Caltongate Masterplan sets out the Council’s vision for the area and establishes the planning and design objectives, including the preferred land uses and development principles. The Masterplan is a Council document and will be a material planning consideration in the determination of future planning applications.

The Masterplan has been subject to the process of strategic environmental assessment (SEA) The Environmental Report together with the comments received during the SEA process have been taken into account in the production of the final Masterplan and this will be detailed in the subsequent SEA Statement, which will be produced by the Council.
