General Information

Building Standards

Almost all new building work from house extensions to a new rooflight needs the granting of a Building Warrant and the acceptance of a Completion Certificate to ensure that it is safe to use and fit for its purpose.

Building Standards ensure that all new or altered buildings comply with the Building Regulations which set national standards for health and safety.

You need a Building Warrant and may require Planning Permission before you can start any building work except that which is exempt under the Building Regulations.
