These Guidance Notes are intended to assist when making an application for a Building Warrant, together with provided some additional important information. The notes should be read along with the relevant forms listed below.

Building Warrant Pack for applications lodged before 1st May 2005

Please note that you can no longer apply for a new Building Warrant in terms of the Building (Scotland) Act 1959 & 1970 as amended, using old forms. Please apply using the forms referred to in the "Building Warrant Forms for Applications lodged on or after 1st May 2005" section above.

Notice of intent to begin work Pack

A notice of intent to begin work is required by Building Standards. You must advise them of the date on which work commenced, within seven days of that date.
